Watertown High students dismissed early after round of ammunition found
WATERTOWN, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Students at Watertown High School were dismissed early Friday after a single round of ammunition was found in a classroom.
Police tell FOX 25 the ammunition was found during first period Friday morning. A teacher discovered a single bullet on top of a projector in a classroom just after 8 a.m. Students were then sheltered in place for four hours while police checked the entire building and even used an x-ray machine on backpacks. They did not find anything during their search.
Two weeks ago there was a bomb threat at the school, which prompted an evacuation. Police do not know how or when the bullet was placed Friday, or if it was related to the previous bomb threat.
Whether there is a connection or not, Watertown parents are on edge.
"Hopefully it's just a kid playing a hoax and it's nothing more than that, but its very alarming, it's frightening," one parent said.
