WALTHAM, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com/AP) - Authorities say two people are dead in two separate car crashes in Massachusetts.
In Waltham, state police say 77-year-old Edward Fredericks of Waltham suffered a medical condition and lost control of his vehicle while driving north on Interstate 95. He crashed onto the center median barrier and was taken to Newton-Wellesley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead Friday.
In northwestern Massachusetts, authorities are trying to figure out why an SUV driving west on Route 9 in Cummington crossed the center line and crashed into a gas tanker on Friday afternoon.
The Northwest District Attorney's office says the crash killed the man driving the smaller car. The driver of the gas tanker was not injured and fuel in the vehicle did not leak.
Authorities did not release the names of those killed because their relatives had not been notified.
