MERRIMACK, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A 20-year-old male was arrested Saturday after reportedly sideswiping a police cruiser on the highway in Merrimack, New Hampshire, according to N.H. state police.
Around 5 a.m. Saturday, a N.H. state trooper was on patrol on the Daniel Webster Highway traveling northbound when a vehicle traveling southbound crossed the double yellow lines into the path of the cruiser. The trooper attempted to avoid the vehicle by driving to the far right shoulder, but the other vehicle still sideswiped the cruiser, police said.
The driver of the other vehicle continued past the collision, but the trooper quickly caught up. Erick M. Wayman-Baxter, 20, of Hudson, N.H. was stopped about a mile away from where the collision took place and was arrested on charges of underage driving while intoxicated and conduct after an accident.
Neither party was injured in the accident. Wayman-Baxter was released on bail and is due in court on Jan. 9 for his arraignment.
