BRIMFIELD, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- One person was found deceased after a fire inside a Brimfield home Wednesday.
State Fire Marshal Stephen Coan tells FOX 25 the fire broke out shortly after midnight at 11 Hollow Road.
Emergency crews were called to the scene by a relative of the homeowner who lives across the street. They said the owner and lone occupant of the home was likely inside.
The fire was put out by 7 a.m., at which time investigators entered the home to find the body of the victim.
According to the Telegram & Gazette, the house was one of only a few in the neighborhood that was spared when a tornado hit the town in June 2011.
The victim's identity was not released.
Investigators believe the fire began on the first floor, however it remains unclear what caused it. They also say there were no working fire alarms in the home.
