Understanding 2014's Diet Trends

Posted: Updated:

So many people make a New Year's resolution to shed those unwanted pounds. And there are so many diets out there, it's hard to know what ones really work.

So, "Good Day Philadelphia" asked nutritionist Katie Cavuto, president of HealthyBitesDelivery.com, to review some of the diet trends for 2014.

Among those she discussed were:

The Fast Diet:

It requires fasting on 500 calories a day for two days.

The Every-Other-Day Diet:

Eat whatever you want and then restrict.

The Happy Herbivore:

This is vegetable-based, so it can be restrictive. It also cuts out artificial and processed foods.

The 100:

This one focuses on sugar calories and limiting overall sugar

The Mayo Clinic Diet:

It teaches lifestyle changes and healthy eating habits.

This focuses on whole foods and nothing processed.
