Man arrested for OUI on train tracks in Somerville

Posted: Updated:

SOMERVILLE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A man was arrested Saturday night after calling Transit Police to report that he couldn't get his car free from train tracks.

Police found 30-year-old Daniel Kenney inside the Mystic train yard on Jan. 4 at 11:40 p.m., with his car stuck between commuter rail train tracks. Officers asked Kenney how he ended up inside the train yard and with his car lodged in the tracks.

But as Kenney spoke to the officers, police said they smelled alcohol and made "other observations" associated with intoxication.

Kenney was arrested fro operating a vehicle while under the influence of liquor and will be arraigned in Somerville District Court. Transit officers said it was still unclear how the Dorchester man ended up inside the yard.
