FAIRHAVEN, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Fairhaven Police continue to search for the Marion man who has been missing since Dec. 31.
Dana Dourdeville, 21, of Marion went duck hunting Dec. 31, but never returned home. Police found the kayak that he brought with him, but are still searching the waters and on foot for the man.
The U.S. Coast Guard located his kayak about 3 miles offshore between West Island and Falmouth around 11 p.m. the day he was reported missing. Fairhaven police Sgt. Kevin Kobza says there was a single glove inside and it did not seem like the kayak had flipped.
The Southeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council Underwater Recovery Unit and Dive Team launched two boat searches in Fairhaven Wednesday morning, nine days after the man was reported missing.
The first launch left around 10 a.m. and searched the scallop farm off the northeast coast of West Island using an underwater camera. Shallow waters were also checked for any sign of the man. Neither search produced anything of significance.
The extensive search for the man has been conducted from the air, on the water and on land.
