'Brim Beanie Bandit' strikes again, allegedly threatens child's life in note

Posted: Updated:

STOUGHTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- The man known to investigators as the Brim Beanie Bandit strikes again, this time allegedly threatening a child's life in the note he passed to a bank teller.

In each of the bank robberies he's completed, he wears a distinctive brimmed winter hat. The bandit struck the South Shore Bank Branch in Stoughton Monday; the same bank he hit back in December.

The bandit passed a note demanding cash, but the FBI says that note also contained a disturbing threat to a child's life.

Randy Jarvis of the Boston FBI says investigators are "very interested in getting this person in custody very quickly" due to the threat of carrying a firearm and the threat to a child's life.

The bandit has also hit banks in Quincy, Needham and Braintree, in addition to the same bank twice in Stoughton. Authorities think he might also be the guy involved in an attempted bank robbery in Dorchester.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the FBI's Boston Division at 617-742-5533.
