SPENCER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A 7 year old Spencer male was charged with being a "delinquent child" after allegedly stabbing another 7 year old with a pencil during recess.
The incident occurred at the Wire Village School in Spencer on Oct. 4 last year during recess, officials say. The victim was stabbed with a pencil while he was lying on the ground. The pencil allegedly penetrated the victim's rectum. He was hospitalized and needed surgery.
On Dec. 30, the 7 year old male from Spencer was charged with being a "delinquent child." Any child between the ages of 7 and 8, who commits any offense, is charged with being a "delinquent child." This specific offense is being alleged as assault and battery with a dangerous weapon to wit a sharp object, officials say.
An arraignment date is scheduled for Jan. 21.
