Fire In Darby Displaces 13 Families

DARBY, Pa. -

More than 100 firefighters were on the scene before it was finally put under control. Today, more than 30 people are displaced after a large fire in an apartment complex in Darby.

According to firefighters, the blaze started on the first floor and rapidly expanded to the second floor of the building on the 800 block of Main Street in Darby, Delaware County. Only one person was transported to the hospital and is expected to be okay.

In today, 13 families and 31 people today are affected by the blaze. Authorities say that eight of the families had a place to stay, and five other families will stay at the Red Cross House in University City. Anyone affected should go to the Darby Rec Center, the Red Cross said.
