Mom Says She Was Not Allowed To Breastfeed In Victoria's Secret

Mothers, you know what it feels like: you're out shopping and, all of a sudden, your baby gets hungry. He's fussy, he's crying, so you have to feed him.

One Texas mother says she was told to go breastfeed her baby in an alley! It all started when she was shopping at Victoria's Secret when her baby started to get fussy.

Mom Ashley Clawson just spent $150 at the store. She then asked if she could use one of their fitting rooms to breast feed her baby.

Instead of letting her in, an employee allegedly told her to go out back to an alley. Ashley felt disrespected, so once she got home, she called her husband and then posted about her experience on Facebook.

She was touched by the outpouring of support from people she didn't even know!

"Some of these people I've been getting friend requests from, I have no clue who they are. And people who have shared it on their page, their friends have shared it, and they've tagged certain groups that I never even knew existed," she said.

Victoria's Secret issued a statement, saying:

We take this issue very seriously. We have a long-standing policy permitting mothers to nurse their children in our stores and we are sorry that it was not followed in this case. We have apologized to Ms. Clawson, and we are taking actions to ensure all associates understand our policy that welcomes mothers to breastfeed in our stores.

Under Texas law, "a mother is entitled to breast feed her baby in any location where the mother is allowed to be." Clawson filed two complaints to the company before she was told she would receive something from them in the mail.
