Driver of tractor trailer that rolled over in Fall River cited
(MyFoxBoston.com) --The driver of a tractor trailer that rolled over and caught fire, causing the closure of Route 24 in Fall River on Monday, has been cited.
Thursday morning, Massachusetts State Police issued two citations to the driver, Lisa M. Corch, of Danielson, Conn.. She was cited with driving at a speed greater than reasonable and marked lanes violation.
Monday morning, the tractor trailer truck was transporting more than 11,000 gallons of gasoline when it crashed near President Avenue just after 7 a.m., causing the truck to catch fire. Both the northbound and southbound lanes were closed as fire crews worked to put out the flames.
The truck was owned by J.P. Noonan Transportation. According to federal records, that company's trucks were involved in 14 crashes over the past two years, one of which resulted in a fatality.
