FOX 5 celebrates after gaining more than 300,000 Facebook friends FOX 5 celebrates after gaining more than 300,000 Facebook friends
ATLANTA, Ga. -

What began as a fun way for a campus full of college students to communicate, has become daily routine for people the world over. Did you ever post: "I don't like the NEW Facebook, give me the old (style) back!" You were not alone. However, we adapted - to 10 years of revisions.

When many of us wake up in the morning, the first thing we do is reach for our smartphones or tablets and see what changed on Facebook with our friends, and the world, while we slept.

Businesses, friendships, and careers have been built on Facebook. Movies tell the story of the site.

For many, it is a source of inspiration, connection, and vital information.

For others, it is a blog of the latest Starbucks purchase.

Just this month, FOX 5 celebrated our vast network of Facebook connections. (Pictured above)

What is Facebook to you? Have you re-united with someone through the site? Found love? Had a heart broken? Become closer to family? We will be sharing your stories today as Facebook celebrates 10 years in operation:

Jason James "My wife and I reconnected through facebook. We went to high school and then to college together, but lost touch soon after for about 6 or 7 years. I got facebook back in 2009, and she was my first friend on here. We got married in October of 2010, and have three (I know right?!) amazing children now. I owe you one Zuckerberg!"

Rori Woodall Shelton "It was the absolute BEST way to communicate with my husband while he was deployed and to send pictures and videos of our son learning to walk Even though he wasn't physically here with us, he was able to be a part in watching our son learn and grow Thank you!"

Donna Cook "I am not a tv person ..but i keep up with fox 5 news on here .. love face book ... have a sister in Athen s i dont get to see much .. i get to talk to her on here thank s face book ..i can travel on face book without leaving home .. thanks face book"

I found out when I was 10 that I had a brother...(Imagine my surprise, finding out I had a brother 11 years older...) when I was 18 I started looking for him, always a dead end. UNTIL THE DAY, I GOT ON FACEBOOK, so I could look at Pinterest!!! 36 years after I first started looking.....2 weeks after getting on FACEBOOK. I FOUND MY BROTHER!!!! To me FACEBOOK GAVE ME MY BROTHER. FACEBOOK CHANGED MY LIFE!!!!! My brother and I have seen each other twice and talk on the phone, messages etc! For me FACEBOOK, HELPED ME FIND MY BROTHER. I NEVER THOUGHT I'd FIND HIM. With IN 1 HOUR OF SENDING HIM A FRIEND REQUEST, he accepted me as a FRIEND on facebook!!!!! Its been two years now. I'm a very happy and blessed little sister (56 years old). All continues to go well for us. I OWE A HUGE THANK YOU TO FACEBOOK!"
