Wanted: Good Samaritan Who Scared Off Thieves Armed Only With a Skateboard

Posted: Updated:
Los Angeles, CA -

(FOX 11) He might not be Superman, but for sure he's a super guy.  Some one carrying only a skateboard confronted two men stealing watches from the rear of the Watch Time, Inc store in downtown LA.  The men had rammed a van through the rolling steel doors of the store. They're captured on video surveillance, entering the warehouse space.  There, you can see stacks and stacks of boxes, each with multiple watches.

The owner, Aziz Ali believes the thieves carted away a thousand watches worth about $7,000.  The burglar alarm brought the police but long after the good guy scared away the bad guys.  Ali calls the good Samaritan a brave man. If you watch the surveillance video, you see him exchange words with one of the suspects.

The thief is clearly not happy. You can see him gesture broadly and stomp his foot.  The exchange heats up and the two are seen nose to nose. Then, the good guy grabs the bad guy by the throat. The second suspect comes out to help his friend.  But instead of fighting, the two get into the van and drive away. The man with the skateboard watches the van drive off and he just walks away. To Ali, that's the sign of a good guy and he would like to know who he is so he can properly thank him; shake his hand, offer him a reward. But take another look at the video, I would guess the skateboarder isn't interested. He just wanted to do the right thing.
