Measles exposure alert for Palisades Center Mall

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

After confirming a case of measles, the Rockland County Department of Health is alerting the public to a possible exposure risk at the Palisades Center Mall.

If you were at the mall on Super Bowl Sunday, February 2, 2014, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. you may have been exposes, health officials said. The specific area of possible exposure was primarily on the first floor at the Best Buy and AT&T stores.

If you or any members of your family was at the mall at that time and fall into any of these high-risk groups you should call the doctor by phone away: pregnant, child under 6 months, immunocompromised or immunosuppressed, or have not been vaccinated against the measles.

If you are in a high-risk group or if you have any symptoms of measles (fever and rash), DON'T go to hospital, doctor's office, or urgent care center because you could spread the disease. Instead, call your doctor or hospital first. Measles is a highly contagious disease.
