AURORA, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A 29-year-old west suburban woman was charged with felony drunken driving and child endangerment after she was involved in a hit and run crash with her 4-year-old daughter in her vehicle, the Beacon-News is reporting.

Kirsten Gutierrez, 1900 block of Selmartin Road, is facing several charges after allegedly fleeing from a crash that occurred near Aurora Avenue and Indian Trail at 4:53 p.m. Thursday, police said.

Gutierrez's vehicle allegedly rear-ended another vehicle that was stopped at a red light on Aurora Avenue and then fled from the scene.

She was stopped by police in the 1100 block of Aurora Avenue and was eventually charged with felony drunken driving, driving with a revoked license, no insurance, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, leaving the scene of an accident, no child restraint and child endangerment.

Police said that Gutierrez and her daughter were waiting in a squad car for a family member to come take the child when Gutierrez allegedly struck an officer in the head. She was additionally charged with misdemeanor battery to a peace officer, police said.
