CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A man and a teen boy were seriously hurt after they were stabbed in separate incidents 10 minutes apart early Saturday in the Southwest Side Brighton Park neighborhood.

The first incident happened about 12:30 a.m., when a 23-year-old man was approached by a male and stabbed in the left side of his neck while standing on a corner in the 4200 block of South Campbell Avenue, said police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.

About 10 minutes later, a 16-year-old boy was walking in to a party in the 4400 block of South Fairfield Avenue when two males walked up to him, started beating him up and then stabbed him in the upper right side of his chest, Alfaro said.

Friends of each victim took them to Saint Anthony Hospital, and both were transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital, Alfaro said.

Both are in serious condition, Alfaro said.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
