A Macomb County man is hospitalized after he was stabbed several times. The person suspected of stabbing him is his 54-year-old roommate, Ronald Roude.

The stabbing happened at the Camelot Villa mobile homes in Macomb Twp. Thursday afternoon. The victim was stabbed in his stomach, arms and face.

Investigators tell FOX 2 that Roude is the victim's long-time family friend and he used a hunting knife to stab him 14 times.

"This was a very, very serious tonight where this could have been a homicide at anytime," says Macomb Co. Sheriff Anthony Wickersham.

Macomb County sheriff's deputies can be heard arresting Roude during the 911 call. The victim told dispatchers his roommate is bipolar and was not taking his medication.

Roude has been charged with assault with intent to murder. He is being held on a $150,000 bond.

Wickersham explains why Roude is wearing a suicidal gown in his mug shot: "If individuals present that they could be a problem where they may harm themselves while they're in the facility or there's any indicators, then we take every precaution to make sure we can protect those individuals while they're in custody here."

The victim is still hospitalized and is in critical condition.
