$12K reward offered in serial bank robber case

Posted: Updated:

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Law enforcement officials are offering up to $12,000 for information leading to the arrest of a serial bank robber.

The FBI announced in a press release Tuesday they were offering up to $10,000 leading to a suspect being arrested and charged. The Massachusetts Bankers Association is also offering a $2,000 reward.

Investigators allege the same suspect is behind four robberies that took place between Dec. 12 and Jan. 28 at banks in Allston, Brighton, Brookline, and Braintree. In each case, the suspect displayed a black handgun and threatened the tellers.

The suspect is described as a black or possibly Hispanic man, believed to be in his mid 30s to 40s, about 5'11" tall, with a medium build. Investigators believe he also has what appears to be skin tags or moles beneath his eyes.

During the robberies, the suspect wore a dark jacket, dark pants, both black gloves and white gloves, a scarf or ski mask, and a knit hat.

In two of the robberies, the suspect fled the scene in stolen cars, which were later recovered. The FBI said it is unknown if a second suspect was in the getaway cars.

This is the list of robberies the suspect is believed to be involved in:

- 12/12/2013: Century Bank, 300 Western Avenue, Allston, MA
- 01/03/2014: Santander, 487 Harvard Street, Brookline, MA
- 01/07/2014: Santander, 30 Birmingham Parkway, Brighton, MA
- 01/28/2014: TD Bank, 405 Franklin Street, Braintree, MA

Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI's Boston Division at 617-742-5533.
