Kevin Costner: Walking Between The Raindrops Of Killing People

Posted: Updated:

How does Kevin Costner describe his latest movie "3 Days to Kill"? "It's surprisingly funny and sometimes even a little touching for a guy who's walking between the raindrops of killing people."

Costner plays an international spy trying to get out of the life but circumstances keep him from walking away. He's also trying to reconnect with his daughter. The Oscar winner has children and says he brought that life experience to the part.

"I've been lucky though. As much as you love them, you try and raise them, eventually they're in the driveway saying they want the keys to the car and they want it now...like in this movie when you've been gone, there is no great answer for that and he pays a price for it."

Costner says his on screen persona is trying to do right by everyone while doing what he's paid to do. In that way, he says it's a struggle most everyone can relate to...including him.

"I think a lot of us put our jobs first and I've tried to not let that happen but probably certainly if you go back in my own history with my family maybe it has."

Kevin is also touring with his band this spring and summer and they've released a new single on I Tunes, "Alive in the City".

"3 Days to Kill" opens February 21.
