Metro-North worker pleads not guilty to indecency

Posted: Updated:

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) - A Metro-North Railroad employee has pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor sexual assault and public indecency charges in connection with an incident on a New Haven Line train in Connecticut.

Thirty-five-year-old Manny Ramos of Brooklyn, N.Y., was arraigned Tuesday in Bridgeport Superior Court.

Railroad police say a 33-year-old, pregnant woman fell asleep on a train and awoke to see Ramos masturbating. Authorities say Ramos fled the train at the Fairfield station but was arrested nearby.

Ramos and his lawyer declined to comment Tuesday. He's free on bail and is due back in court March 11.

Ramos was an engineer trainee. He's been suspended without pay.

Police say he admitted to the lewd conduct and told authorities he was trying to relieve stress.
