The Detroit Water and Sewerage Department says it is working hard to fix dozens of broken water mains that still plague the city.

One closed businesses around Campus Martius downtown on Tuesday.

FOX 2's Randy Wimbley spoke with the crew at a break on Franklin and St. Aubin streets about repairs. One worker asks residents to "be patient" with the department as they are trying to get to every break with a short amount of manpower.

The department normally employs one contractor to help with water main breaks. This winter they have two contractors.

"We're working hard everyday. We're going to get to them," says Chuck Bryant from the department.
