NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - A nursing home in Rockville Center on Long Island was being evacuated Wednesday morning due to concerns over a possible roof collapse.

Heavy accumulation of snow on the roof of the building on Maple Avenue and a broken sprinkler pipe prompted the move.

SkyFoxHD was over the home at about 6 :30 a.m. where officials could be seen on the roof inspecting the snow accumulation.

There were no reports of injuries or of an actual roof collapse.

Multiple, recent snow falls have brought down several roofs in stores and buildings across the tristate region.

Patients of the Maple Pointe Assisted Living facility were being moved to the Sandel Senior Center about a block away, reported the Associated Press.
