JAMAICA PLAIN, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – An 80-year-old man and firefighter were transported to the hospital with injuries after a two-alarm fire in Jamaica Plain early Saturday morning.

Firefighters responded to 104 Bynner St. at around 1:48 a.m. for reports of a house fire. Smoke was showing from the two-story home when they arrived.

The fire was in the first floor apartment, where firefighters rescued a man overcome with smoke. He was treated on the scene and then transported to Brigham and Women's hospital. One firefighter was also treated on scene and taken to the hospital for debris in the eye.

Four adult residents were displaced, but have a place to stay, officials say.

The fire chief estimated $400,000 in damages. The investigation into the point or origin and the cause of the fire remains ongoing.
