MERRIMACK, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- At 14 years old, Kobe Huynh, who was battling liver cancer, was already in the fight of his life.

But on Friday night, on the Everett Turnpike in Merrimack, N.H. Kobe lost his life in a terrible three car suspected drunk driving crash.

The man suspected of drunk driving, and now charged in the crash that killed Kobe, is Kobe's own father, Nghia Huynh.

Police allege Nghia lost control of his car at about 7 p.m. Friday night, while traveling  south on the turnpike. Police say he  hit the center median barrier, and rolled into the northbound lane, where he hit two more cars.

At court, Nghia's fiancee told reporters that Nghia loved his son, and is devastated by the loss.

Kobe lived in Auburn, M.E., where his fight against liver cancer was well known.

"He was definitely a fighter," said Jim Hand, Kobe's middle school principal. "Wanted to keep up with the other kids and just be like everybody else."

At Kobe's school, his locker holds a shield the boy made himself, reading "never give up."

"He was just one of those kids that everybody loves," Hand said.
