Fantastic Frank: There's A Hero Inside Everybody

Posted: Updated:

This week in Gina's People, we introduce you to a cape crusader on a mission to turn disability into ability. Frank Johnson says, "You have to live in the moment because you don't know what you're guaranteed for tomorrow."

Johnson knows that well. Years ago, he was caught in a fire and he had enough carbon monoxide poisoning to kill a man of his age. He survived but he suffered brain damage. Instead of accepting being called disabled, Frank decided to call himself differently able and he came up with a new identity.  "I am Fantastic Frank, the world's first and only differently abled motivational speaker," says Johnson.  Johnson speaks all over the country about embracing a positive attitude no matter what you're dealing with. He also surprises total strangers on the street.

While people are shocked to see a grown man dressed as a super hero, most listen quietly to what Johnson has to say.  Juan Martinez who was playing basketball at Burbank Park, had this reaction, "He said there's a hero inside everybody. I want to believe that. I want to believe there's good in everybody. It made me feel good."

Frank has written a book called, From Flawed to Fantastic.  For more information on Frank, go to his website at http://fantasticfrankjohnson.com/
