DEERFIELD, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Mass. State Police seized hundreds of bags of heroin during a traffic stop in Deerfield Saturday.

State Police say a trooper was on patrol along I-91 when he stopped a black Ford Fusion for motor vehicle violations. After the car was stopped, the trooper began an investigation during which 591 bags of heroin and four ecstasy pills were seized.

A passenger in the car, 26-year-old Ashley Trevorrow, of Bellow Falls, Vt., reportedly claimed ownership of the narcotics. She was charged with possession with intent to distribute a class A substance, possession of a class B substance, and conspiracy to violate drug law.

Trevorrow also faces charges on a warrant for failure to appear in Northampton District Court. She was expected to be arraigned Monday in Greenfield District Court.

The driver, Ryan Rivett, 22, also of Bellow Falls, Vt., was issued a criminal complaint application and released.
