'Housewife' Aviva Drescher tells all in new book

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - Nothing in her life - not the loss of her leg at the age of six, to divorce and alcoholism in her family- was off limits when 'Real Housewives of New York' star Aviva Drescher decided to write her new book, 'Leggy Blonde.'

"It's got it all. It actually makes the 'Real Housewives of New York' look tame," said Drescher.

The married mother of four joined the cast of the hit reality TV series in 2012.

"I said no, then I did it," said Drescher about her initial reluctance to join the show. Part of her hesitation was caused by the "drama" that unfolds.

"The TV cameras and the group heighten things," said Drescher.

Her new book was even a point of contention on the show, but it wasn't her intention.

"To keep plowing forward and to not to dwell on things. It’s really why I wrote 'Leggy Blonde.' I think I’ve handled being an amputee quite successfully. I love helping other people and show them by example," said Drescher.

The new season of the 'Real Housewives of New York' begins Tuesday, Mach 11 on Bravo.

Drescher will be signing copies of her new book during two upcoming events:
