Police: Grade-Schoolers Caught Smoking Pot At School

Two 8-year-olds and one 9-year-old were caught smoking pot in the bathroom of their California school, according to police. Now, they're wondering how the kids got their hands on the substance.

"Shocked," said parent Linda Rodriguez of the incident. "To be in third grade and have their own pipe."

The three grade-schoolers were immediately taken out of the bathroom at the school in Sonora.

A local FOX station reach out to the school district, but officials refused to comment.

While it is still unclear what disciplinary measures were taken, students say they haven't seen the kids on campus since.

Although the principal would not comment on the incident, he did say the school will follow the California Education Code, which means the students could be suspended or even expelled.

The case has even been forwarded to Tuolumne County Probation Department. 

"It was bad because they were little kids and it shouldn't happen," said seventh-grade student Mackenzie Morfoot.
