PONTIAC, Mich. (WJBK) -

A "selfie" and other photos posted on Facebook by a suspected serial bank robber helped police identify and locate him.

Jules Bahler, 21, of New York is now in custody. He's accused of robbing three banks in recent weeks in Bay City and Pontiac using a submachine gun.

Investigators say Bahler posted a "selfie" holding the gun used in the crimes on his Facebook page. The robberies were captured by surveillance cameras and police say other Facebook photos showed Bahler wearing some of the same clothing worn during the robberies. There was also a picture of the house he recently purchased in Pontiac.

Police arrested Bahler during a traffic stop. The gun was in the vehicle. He has reportedly confessed to the crimes.
