Need A Hug? How About One From A Reptile?

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

They're in our rivers. They're in our yards. And sometimes...they get in our houses! Reptiles are part of living in Georgia -- and this weekend, one state park is offering a unique chance to learn more about our "hidden" neighbors.

Panola Mountain State Park is proclaiming this Saturday "Reptile Day" -- presented by specialists from the Georgia Reptile Society and Georgia Herpetological Society. It's a chance to get up close -- yes, up close -- to snakes and reptiles from Georgia (and around the world), and learn about these fascinating creatures. Scared? Don't be. Organizers say it'll be an interesting and fun day for participants. It's also a chance to explore the 1,635-acre Panola Mountain State Park, which offers hiking, geocaching, and even an archery range.

Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken is not afraid of snakes -- so he says -- and went to the park for a little preview of Reptile Day. Did he get a hug...or run screaming? Find out by clicking on the videos above.

Ten time Ironman, Dave Nazaroff recently rode 900 miles on his bicycle...from Nyack, New York...to Georgia. He didn't do it to get in shape, or to win a competition; he did it to raise money for a 11 year old Callie Truelove in Gainesville, Georgia.
