(WJBK) -

An aspiring model and singer from Detroit is accused of murder in Georgia.

Skyy Mims, 21, was arrested Tuesday in Bartow County, Ga. She has since been charged with murder after a gas station clerk was found stabbed to death in Dalton, Ga.

Police say Mark Rogers found the 37-year-old victim, Dahyabhai Chaudhari, dead on the floor Sunday. In an interview, Rogers said he found Chaudhari body with its mouth and eyes duct-taped shut.

Whitfield County sheriff's Capt. Rick Swiney said Mims tried to run when officers moved in on the home in Cartersville, Ga. she was found at, but she was apprehended quickly.

Jail records show that Mims, whose last known address is Detroit, was jailed on a murder charge. Jail records do not indicate whether she has an attorney.

Investigators tell an Atlanta newspaper Mims was allegedly driving a car stolen from Michigan.

Those in the Detroit hip-hop community tell FOX 2's Ron Savage they can't believe she could be involved in a situation like this.
