NORRIDGEWOCK, Maine (MyFoxBoston.com) – A man was woken up by police after employees of a tree removal company thought he had a gun on him.

Michael Smith went outside of his home in Norridgewock, Maine shirtless after he was woken up Tuesday morning by a tree removal company. He told the workers to get off his property. The workers thought they saw a gun in his waistband and called police, according to OnlineSentinel.com.

Meanwhile, Smith had gone back to sleep and was woken up again a few minutes later by police at his door and armed troopers in his driveway. They used a megaphone to ask him to vacate.

It turned out that Smith did have a gun, tattooed on his stomach.

Police said that they always take reports of a gun seriously, OnlineSentinal.com reported. No charges have been filed
