Teen girl accused of stabbing student at Cambridge Rindge and Latin

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A 19-year-old Cambridge woman is facing charges after police say she stabbed another teenage girl at Cambridge Rindge and Latin Tuesday.

Jasmine Genty is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and carrying a dangerous weapon on school grounds. She is expected to be arraigned in Cambridge District Court.

Investigators allege Genty stabbed another student during an argument at the school. A security officer and Cambridge police officer quickly intervened. Genty was arrested and the knife allegedly used was recovered.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with a minor stab wound to her shoulder.

Classes continued as scheduled Tuesday morning.
