FOXBORO, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A great off-season has gotten even better for the Patriots and their fans. Vince Wilfork and the team reportedly reached agreement on a 3-year, $22.5 million deal Thursday.

Wilfork will remain a Patriot. This news comes just a few weeks after Wilfork wanted to be released from the team after being asked to take a pay cut.

Wilfork is now under contract until 2016.

"My intentions have never changed, 10 years ago my goal was to retire a Patriot, and as I sit here typing this I am one step closer to my goal. I look forward to getting back to football and helping my team compete and have a chance at winning the Super Bowl," Wilfork said Thursday.
