US Airways tweets porn; says employee posted wrong link

Posted: Updated:

It was a bad day on Twitter for Tempe-based US Airways.  An employee was trying to respond to a customer who had some concerns, but replied with pornographic images.

The company tweeted, "We welcome feedback Elle. If your travel is complete, you can detail it here for review and follow up." -- then included a link.

The problem is that link was to a pornographic picture. We can't even show you the picture that was tweeted or even show you part of the picture.

The tweet was public, so it was seen and retweeted by millions.

US Airways went into immediate damage control.  First, they deleted the tweet.  Of course by that time, the damage was done, so they sent this next tweet: "We apologize for an inappropriate image recently shared as a link in one of our responses.  We've removed the tweet and are investigating."

A spokesperson for US Airways says their investigation discovered the racy picture had been sent to the company and an employee had flagged it.

US Airways is now reviewing its procedures to make sure it doesn't happen again and when that employee went to answer the customer's question, they mistakenly posted that link in the tweet.
