Temporary MBTA closures announced ahead of Marathon tribute

Posted: Updated:

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Green Line trains will not stop at Copley Station between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday due to the Marathon tribute event.

MBTA officials encourage commuters who normally get on and off at Copley to use the Arlington and Hynes Convention Center stations.

Buses on routes 9, 39, and 55 will also be diverted from Boylston Street between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

The closure comes as federal and state officials join Marathon survivors to mark the anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings with a ceremony. The event will begin inside the Hynes Convention Center and end with a flag raising ceremony on Boylston Street.

More closures are expected on Marathon Monday. To learn more, visit: http://www.mbta.com/events/
