BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Sports Illustrated released their latest cover that features an image of hundreds of Bostonians at the Marathon finish line.
The photo includes Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, first responders, and hundreds of Boston residents waving their hands in pride.
Sports Illustrated invited Boston residents to visit the Marathon finish line on April 12 to participate in the photo shoot. More than 3,000 people took them up on the invitation.
The issue focuses on the Boston Marathon and looks at several people who were affected by the bombing. It also includes an article entitled "The Point After" written by Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz.
"His firsthand account explains how proud he is of the city and its citizens, and how incredible the recovery process has been in the last 12 months," said a press release from the magazine.
This week's issue is on newsstands now. The magazine also encourages people to visit SI.com to find themselves on the interactive cover photo.
