Report: 6-year deal would give Boston firefighters an 18.8-percent raise

Posted: Updated:
BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Boston firefighters are set to vote on a new contract that will give them a nearly 19-percent raise.

According to the Boston Globe, the firefighters' union and the Walsh administration have agreed to a new six-year pact. The deal is retroactive to July 2011. It includes back pay, as well as raises of 3-percent for the next two years and 2-percent in 2016.

The firefighters were without a contract for nearly three years.

Last year, an arbitrator awarded city police officers a 25-percent raise.
