Local couple welcomes baby with help of Quincy Fire Dept.

QUINCY, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A local couple welcomed their newborn baby into the world Friday morning along with the help of some Quincy firefighters.

A cab driver banged on the door of the Quincy Fire Department, saying a woman in his cab was in labor. When the firefighters rushed to the taxi, the baby was already crowning.

The baby girl was delivered right on the side of the road. Firefighters had to clear out the little girl's airway after she didn't cry immediately.

An ambulance rushed mom, dad, and baby off to Boston Medical Center. Despite the chaotic arrival, mom and baby are said to be doing well.
