Reward offered in shooting of two common loons in N.H.
DOVER, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Wildlife officials are offering a $5,000 reward for information in the case of two wild birds found shot in New Hampshire.
Investigators say one common loon was shot near the Cocheco River in Dover. The other was shot on Lake Winnipesaukee in Gilford.
Common loons are protected under state laws. They are listed as a threatened species.
A $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible is being offered by the Humane Society of the United States and the Humane Society Wildlife Land Trust. Anyone with information is asked to call 603-223-2541.
