2 stabbed near Shawmut T station Wednesday afternoon
BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Transit police are investigating two men who were apparently stabbed after an incident that may have originated on an Orange Line train.
At around 12:45 p.m., MBTA Transit Police responded to the Shawmut station in Dorchester for a call of a person stabbed. While inside the station, officers talked to multiple witnesses but could not find the stabbing victim, a press release from the MBTA stated.
Nearby, detectives found two men suffering from stab wounds in two different locations. One man was found on Leslie Street, and the other was found near the intersection of Dorchester and Welles avenues.
Thought it was still unclear exactly what happened to lead to the stabbings, the preliminary investigation shows the men may have been stabbed on the southbound platform of Shawmut station.
The men were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police are investigating the incident. No other details were immediately available.
