BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A judge granted a motion from Aaron Hernandez's defense team Monday that would allow him to move from Bristol County Jail to a jail closer to Suffolk County.
Hernandez, who has been in Bristol County Jail in North Dartmouth since his arrest on murder charges for last year's death of Odin Lloyd, was recently arraigned in Suffolk County on two more murder charges, for a 2012 double murder in Boston. His lawyer's office is also in Boston.
According to the motion filed, his lawyers "face the highly-unusual challenge of simultaneously preparing a defense to two distinct homicide cases pending in two distant counties."
A judge granted the motion on Monday but did not declare where specifically he would be moved.
Also during the hearing on Monday, the judge allowed a subpoena for all unedited television news video of police entering Hernandez's home. The defense argues that troopers did not have a warrant with them when entering the home for the cell phones they seized.
A potential trial date for October 6 was set in the Odin Lloyd murder case, though Hernandez's defense team will file an official position on the tentative date set. The defense team also mentioned that they could still file a motion for a change of venue for the trial, which would affect the final decision for the trial date.
