TEWKSBURY, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Market Basket's co-CEOs would like to reach a conclusion in their ongoing feud with employees by Friday.
A representative for the company confirmed to FOX 25 they would like to have an agreement by the end of the week. However, the Board of Directors would not vote on the agreement Friday. An official decision will come once a vote is held.
Executives have agreed to hold off on firing employees and closing stores as negotiations continue.
The agreement is a result of Sunday night's meeting with the governors of Massachusetts and New Hampshire, as well as Arthur T. and Arthur S. Demoulas. The two cousins are discussing a sale of the franchise as well as efforts to stabilize the company's operations and finances.
Arthur T. has offered to buy the 50.5 percent of the chain owned by Arthur S. and his family.
